Never been to a SOL Customer Appreciation Sale? Fear not!  I called a few of our professional SOL sale shoppers and asked them for some tips and tricks when it comes to shopping the big sale. 

So here they are: SOL Sale Secrets from our Savvy SOL Shoppers ...

Joy: Get on the waiting list! The wait is never super long but getting on the list for a fitter as soon as you get to SOL is a definite time saver. Even if I think I'm just going to pick up some PJs, I sign up just in case I find a little fancy fancy from Aubade!

Lauren: They always say this on their website, but it's true. I never pay for parking when I go to SOL! Besides having "the girls" taken care of, my car is too. Run in for a token, and you're set without worrying about parking tickets!

Marianne:  Take a friend. My BFF recommends things that I wouldn't choose for myself, but turn out to be my favorites!

Katie: Did you know you can place a phone order during the sale and still get your 20% off? I travel a lot for work and found this out last year. I just spent a few minutes on the phone with Anna, she packaged up everything I wanted and by the time I got home on the weekend, it was on my front porch. Like magic, I tell you.  (want the number to call:  1-800-466-1356).

Ali: Go more than once! I always see things the second time that I can't believe I missed on my first visit. 

Haley: I always plan ahead! I cruise the website first, then go to the store a couple of days before the sale, and then I make a list! I also make a separate list for my hubby –

that way, I know I'll get exactly what I want for Christmas and he'll save 20%.

What a beautiful day to Race for the Cure!

Thank you to everyone on Team SOL for braving the cold and being a part of an amazing experience. It is certainly one that I will never forget. Comprised of 14 SOL customers and 17 SOL employees, Team SOL raised an astonishing $11,220!

Gearing up (and warming up) for the race

Before the race, we met up in “Team Land” for coffee, bagels, and donuts (not the breakfast of champions but it was a welcome snack at 7am!). The 5K walk/run started at 8am – Just in time for the sun to come out. Seeing the countless pink tribute bibs worn by those walking “in celebration of” and “in memory of” was incredibly moving having lost my mother to breast cancer four years ago.

Off we go!

Seeing thousands of Denverites whose lives have been touched by breast cancer was inspiring. The sea of pink tutus, wigs, and feather boas around the Pepsi Center added to the celebratory atmosphere. Cheerleaders from local high schools, firemen, and musician lined the race course (though it felt more like a parade route!).

Up one last hill to the finish

Warmed up and energized from our 3+ mile walk, Team SOL regrouped after crossing the finish line. We all had such a great time at Race for the Cure that we’re already looking forward to next year!

My Special Birthday Gift: Cindy Lou Cigars!

One of the best parts of my job is meeting customers and making new friends. In 2007, I had the pleasure of helping Sean Elder pick out a Valentine's Day gift for his wife Teresa.  Sean and Teresa have been loyal SOL shoppers -- and our cigar suppliers -- ever since!

A few weeks ago while celebrating my birthday with friends and family, the Elders presented me with the most amazing gift: My own cigars and cigar box! The “Cindy Lou” is the newest addition to The Perfect Cigar’s Pin Up Girl Cigar line. I have always had a love of vintage pin up art so when I saw the cigar band’s design, I was ecstatic!

The Perfect Cigar’s first set of pin up girls have names but were not named after anyone. The “Cindy Lou” cigar is the first to be specifically named for someone. I am so honored and excited to be the first “real” pin up girl!
