Paris Lingerie Shows 2009

Bonjour! Every year customers ask what is it like to go to Paris for the lingerie shows. As a result I thought it would be fun to share some of the images and inspirations that Paris provides. As always the City of Lights provided lots of fashion inspiration. It's a beautiful city with beautiful people who really have a knack for throwing together a fantastic outfit. And underneath all those great outfits you know is beautiful lingerie, bought from one of the myriad of lingerie shops that can be found all over the city.

Every year I am amazed when I first walk into the convention center where SIL (Salon International de la Lingerie Paris) is held. There are so many vendors from around the world and it is invigorating to see all that is new and exciting in lingerie trends. The Fall/Winter collection of Marie Jo line in particular had some gorgeous, versatile designs and Cadolle's line was incredibly exciting.

One of the highlights of SIL was seeing the Ultra Show. Below is a picture of our entire team at the show: Janelle (Marketing Director), me, Jocelyn (Buyer), Amanda (Store Manager) and Jeanie (Co-Owner with me).
The designs below are inspired by one of Fall/Winter's 2009 trends: Gourmandese. The designers go all out to create one-of-a-kind pieces to wow the crowd. This fabulous interpretation of meringue won one of the Jury's choice awards.

I did have a chance to take in some sights while I was there. We had one day with a beautiful blue sky and took the opportunity to go on the gigantic ferris wheel set up temporarily in the Tuilieries. It provided a beautiful perspective of the city skyline and I enjoyed the view of the Richard Serra sculpture below.

And it is always magical to look upon the Eiffel Tower. I hope you enjoyed this overview! Au revoir!
