Spring Break, Spring Cleaning

It is the time of year for Spring Break. My daughter is on a vacation from school, college kids are traveling to sunny beaches, the air even feels a little bit different. It is also a good reminder to do some Spring cleaning. So, while you’re searching out and destroying the dust bunnies under your bed, why not clean out your lingerie drawer?

Here is the rule of thumb… For every new bra you buy, you should toss one of your old, tired bras. Because our bras are the hardest working item in our wardrobes, they do have a shelf life, and you should be replacing them every 6 months to one year.

Hopefully you were able to stock up on some new bras at our annual Winter Clearance Sale. Or maybe this serves as a reminder to toss a few of those bras that have stretched out and come replace a few.

If you feel bad tossing your worn bras in the garbage, we happily accept donations of gently worn bras for the Gathering Place, where we do monthly bra fittings for women in need. www.the-gatheringplace.org

Happy Spring!

"The boutique's cult following..."

Today’s article in the Denver Post by Susan Greene explains the love that Denver women have for SOL and their bras. The article focuses on how people spending this much money on a bra in the current economy is incredulous. I, of course, know the other values SOL provides its customers: great customer service, free parking, honesty and a fun shopping experience. As all you SOL shoppers know, you are not just paying $100 for a bra; but also the added value of comfort, confidence and style. A big thank you to all of you SOL Girls who believe in us. Back to Basics

New Style in the Daisy Bra! A non-molded cup with the same
great daisy straps! Regular Price $110, with 15% off - $93.50

The foundation of your lingerie wardrobe should consist of 7 basic bras. That is, one bra for every day of the week. If you own your seven, they should last you one year (if you are caring for them properly!).

What makes a bra a “basic”. Well, that depends on the individual. A girl who wears a lot of white or close fitting knits may need more smooth, nude bras. Some gals prefer a molded cup because it provides more modesty. There are also some gals who consider their lacy bras to be their basics because their wardrobe is mostly dark or heavier fabrics. Your definition of a basic may change depending on the season… It may be determined by the job that you do… Regardless, you should build up to your 7 and replace them as they wear out!

Now is the perfect time to stock up and get “back to basics”. SOL’s Annual Winter Clearance Sale starts Saturday March 14th and runs through March 21st. All merchandise in the store is 15% off…the perfect time to add a few “basics” to your collection!

Bra-Care Basics

Everyone is trying to make the most of their money these days. One of the ways you can get the most bang for your buck with your lingerie is to take good care of it. Here is the real scoop on how to care for your bras…

You really want to wash your bra EVERYTIME you wear it. Believe it or not, the more often you wash your bras the longer they will last and keep their shape. You also never want to wear the same bra two days in a row (unless you’ve washed it).

If you have time to hand wash, great! But if not, the delicate cycle in the washing machine is fine, as long as you are hooking the backs and putting them in a lingerie bag. We recommend Forever New Lingerie Wash because it is a gentle, citrus based soap that gets your lingerie really clean. Most importantly, NEVER put them in the dryer!

Remember… if you are good to your bras, then they will be good to you!
