How To Make Your Bra Disappear

Memorial Day is coming up, and you know what that means…white season is back! In order to make your bra disappear under a white or light colored t-shirt, you must choose a bra that closely matches your skin tone. But, keep in mind, it does not need to match perfectly. Many shades will work. The same rule applies for your panties. Wearing a nude thong under white pants or skirts will ensure your unmentionables will stay unmentionable. Or try the laser cut nude panty by LZ, which will ensure your panty line is invisible under anything! So, make sure you have a nude bra and panties on hand before Summer starts so you don’t get caught off guard when you pull out that cute white sundress that has been hiding in your closet for the last 9 months!

Give Your Mom the Gift of Support...and Comfort!

There could not be a more perfect gift for your Mom this Mother’s Day than the gift of a bra fitting from SOL. A new, well fitting bra not only gives great support and provides new found comfort, but can often make clothes fit better and make you look slimmer- what a gift! And, since we wear our bra every day, it is a gift of real value. So bring your Mom to SOL to get fit and treat her to a new bra, or even better, get fit together! And if you really want to put a spring in her step, add a matching panty so she feels beautiful head to toe!

Lingerie Drawer Tip: How to Store Your Molded Cup Bras

I recently re-organized my bra and panty collection and started getting curious about the way other people do it. So, I started asking around at the store and found out that each person has their own unique way of storing their bras, particularly when it comes to molded cups.

There really is no wrong way to do it, as long as you aren't crushing the cups. But the two most popular ways are either hooked in the back and lying flat, stacking molded cup on top of molded cup in your drawer (as seen above), or folding your bra in half, tucking one molded cup into the other. Either way, they are both a safe and effective way of storage.

So, figure out what works best for you, even it is hanging your bras on your bedroom doorknob! But most importantly, wash them every time you wear them with Forever New and always, always hang them to dry!

Look What Has Sprouted Up at SOL

Dots versus Daisies? Looking to spice up your everyday bra collection? We just got in the ‘Dottie,’ a fantastic everyday bra that has the same versatile features of the daisy plunge, but with dots instead of daisies on the straps. It comes in tried and true basic colors: cafĂ© latte, black, white, and their fabulous spring color is Flamingo. It’s a beautiful color with alternating coral and white dots on the straps - very cute!

The store is abloom with fresh new windows and a bouquet of this season’s beautiful new bra colors! I love this month’s store display which features a garden theme complete with daisies galore (both bras and flowers!), garden hoses and potted grasses. In terms of our basic bras, we have all your perennial favorites, some in their new Spring hues! So, take a walk and breathe deep; inhale that refreshing Spring air, and stop by the store to add to your garden of goodies.

Interview with a SOL Girl - Amanda

Amanda is our fabulous store manager. You may have met her or seen her while in the store, or maybe you have been lucky enough to have had her fit you! Read on to learn more about this SOL girl…

Cindy: Why do you love working at SOL?
Amanda: I feel incredibly fortunate to work in an environment where I am able to help women feel good about their bodies. It is rewarding to educate customers about the basics of bra fitting and help them discover something sexy and fun too!

I also absolutely love the people who I work. We are like a family. And all of us women (and one SOL Man) are so passionate about what we do!

Cindy: What is your favorite basic bra? Why?
Amanda: I am 32D. I have a basic bra in my drawer that I wear with my thin light colored tops that I call my “ace bandage” because it is nude and really plain, and it holds me in perfectly. It is the Satin by Prima Donna and I love it for its comfort and functionality. I also love the daisy bra because it's cute and it converts to a halter bra.

Cindy: What bra tip surprised you the most to learn when you first started working at SOL?
Amanda: That a nude bra works best under a white shirt! It sounds silly to say it now, but it was like magic when you first taught me that tip. And to learn that most shades of nude work, regardless of skin tone. And even some light colors as well such as pale pink, pale blue or the new peachy/vanilla color in the Daisy bra; that those all can work surprisingly well too, depending on the shirt.

Cindy: Panty preference?
Amanda: Matching thong or Boyshort

Cindy: Favorite Take-out comfort food?
Amanda: Indian

Cindy: What do you like to do in your spare time?
Amanda: Ski! I’m sad the season is ending this weekend.

Fresh New Colors in the DAISY BRA!

The new coral color in the Daisy bra is here! One of the highlights of their Spring collection is a new bra style, the Daisy push-up. The coral bra shown in the image on the left is the push-up style. This style is perfect for that extra “oomph” you want with your favorite tops. Currently, for its initial launch, it is only available in limited sizes (A, B, and C cups).

The Daisy plunge and strapless are available for purchase through our website,
but do stop by the store to try on the new push-up style.

We are expecting the other new color Geisha, which is a perfect Summer neutral with peach and pale blue daisies on the straps, to arrive next week. And since I believe every bra should be worn with matching panties, we are offering 50% off one Hanky Panky thong when you buy one of the new spring colors in the Daisy bra.

$110 plunge & strapless styles, $122 push-up style

A Sneak Peek

Last year, many people asked us how we came up with the idea for our annual photo shoot. It is actually a very fun process! All year long we write down ideas that pop into our heads…we take pictures… and, we tear from the pages of magazines the things that inspire us! Then, we all sit down and brainstorm our thoughts to come up with a theme that is fun, exciting and embodies the SOL way.

This year was no different, and it didn't take us long to agree on a theme that tickled our fancy! I can’t reveal exactly what the campaign will be yet, but I can tell you this- It embraces the free spirit of girlfriends, traveling the open road, soaking up the sunshine and making the most of your pretty panties!

Stay tuned…
