Why Do I Love Prima Donna?

I've been buying bras for a long time, and there are lots of aspects to consider when bringing a new line into the store. Sadly it is not just about how pretty is the lingerie (I would love it if that was the case!) Quality, design and shipping ability also play a factor in our decision. When we learned about the Prima Donna brand years ago, they stood out in all these areas. The Prima Donna brand has existed since 1865 and has always specialized in fuller figure styles and sizes. Jeanie, Janelle and I had an opportunity to visit their factory in Schellebelle, Belgium a few years ago and see firsthand just why they are one of the best companies to work with in the business.


On the factory tour we learned that there are 52 parts to a bra and every one is meticulously tested for strength, durability and consistency. They even test how well it will hold up in the washing machine! The season's colors are selected TWO YEARS before they are ready to be sold to stores, and they thoroughly combine the expertise of computers and machines with the tried and true human eye to double and triple check for problems!


So the 'behind the scenes' love of Prima Donna comes from their professionalism, quality of product and consistency. Yet most importantly, the brand never fails to deliver with impeccable styling, supportive structure and comfort, and fabrics that make even the bustiest gal feel like a million dollars. Why do you love being a SOL girl?

I absolutely love all the people I work with and for. It is such a joy assisting people in the fitting room and helping them to see themselves in a different light through the magic of new bras. I love to make people feel great about themselves!

What is your favorite time of the year at the store?

Sale time! During our sales we get to see all of our customers come in. There is a ton of energy in the store, everyone has fun, and there are great deals. I cannot wait for Sidewalk Sale this year!

What is your favorite brand of sleepwear?

Natori fits me best. Most of their styles are great for busty gals and it makes me feel sexy.

What bra style and brand works the best for you?

Prima Donna plunge, all the way. I particularly love my Corfu. I am a 32F, and it makes my boobs look spectacular! I also love Lise Charmel balconettes. They make for a nice, roundy boob shape!

Favorite summertime activity?

Sitting on my porch in a cute chemise, having a glass of wine and enjoying warm summer nights. I also love spending time with my two boys and watching them play soccer and rugby.

How To Make Your Bra Disappear

Memorial Day is coming up, and you know what that means…white season is back! Lingerie Drawer Tip: How to Store Your Molded Cup Bras

I recently re-organized my bra and panty collection and started getting curious about the way other people do it. So, I started asking around at the store and found out that each person has their own unique way of storing their bras, particularly when it comes to molded cups.

There really is no wrong way to do it, as long as you aren't crushing the cups. But the two most popular ways are either hooked in the back and lying flat, stacking molded cup on top of molded cup in your drawer (as seen above), or folding your bra in half, tucking one molded cup into the other. Either way, they are both a safe and effective way of storage.

So, figure out what works best for you, even it is hanging your bras on your bedroom doorknob! But most importantly, wash them every time you wear them with Forever New and always, always hang them to dry!
