Comprised of 17 staff members and 15 customers, TEAM SOL raised an astonishing $11,585 and was one of the top fundraising teams in Denver. We are looking forward to repeating that accomplishment this year!

To help inspire fundraising for 2013, SOL is giving away a free Daisy bra set in the latest fall color (Navy Blue) to any Team SOL member who raises at least $500!

Never been to a SOL Customer Appreciation Sale? Fear not!  I called a few of our professional SOL sale shoppers and asked them for some tips and tricks when it comes to shopping the big sale. 

So here they are: SOL Sale Secrets from our Savvy SOL Shoppers ...

Joy: Get on the waiting list! The wait is never super long but getting on the list for a fitter as soon as you get to SOL is a definite time saver. Even if I think I'm just going to pick up some PJs, I sign up just in case I find a little fancy fancy from Aubade!

Lauren: They always say this on their website, but it's true. I never pay for parking when I go to SOL! Besides having "the girls" taken care of, my car is too. Run in for a token, and you're set without worrying about parking tickets!

Marianne:  Take a friend. My BFF recommends things that I wouldn't choose for myself, but turn out to be my favorites!

Katie: Did you know you can place a phone order during the sale and still get your 20% off? I travel a lot for work and found this out last year. I just spent a few minutes on the phone with Anna, she packaged up everything I wanted and by the time I got home on the weekend, it was on my front porch. Like magic, I tell you.  (want the number to call:  1-800-466-1356).

Savvy Shoppers Share SOL Sale Secrets (say that 3 times fast!)

I woke up to a Denver covered in a blanket of snow and could only think of one thing.

That means its almost time for my favorite sale of the year...The Customer Appreciation Sale!  It's the time of the year when we get to say Thank You, Gracias, Merci, Grazie, Arigato...well, you get the idea!  You know we love what we do, and you're all the reason we get to do it - so this is our way of showing it.

Happy Anniversary to SOL.

On a bright fall day in October, 1997, my sister Jeanie and I held hands and stood in front of 248 Detroit Street. We looked up at the freshly installed moniker on the building. We looked at each other.  I squeezed her hand. "This is it, sister," I said. "This is it, sister" she answered. 

After weeks of preparation of the space, after months of planning over coffee, margaritas and countless cartons of Chinese food, after years and years of dreaming. This was it.

We turned the key and SOL Store of Lingerie was officially open. Wouldn't it be fun to say there was a line of people waiting with us like on a Sidewalk Sale day? It would, but it wouldn't be true. That first day, we had a total of four customers. Four. I could tell you everything about each of them. And we're very proud to say we still see two of them quite often. Thank you Nancy Mitzner and Patty Soffer! As our longest standing customers, you are the original SOL Girls.

That first year, if you wanted a Daisy bra, you could choose Navy...or Navy. We sold 150 of them. We've had 14 fashion colors since then - and in the first nine months of this year alone, more than 3500 have made their way from our fitting rooms to your wardrobes. 

We've had amazing trips to Las Vegas, New York, Paris. (Oh, Paris.) We've had the thrill of seeing our first billboard go up, our first ad in a magazine, our first invitation to be on the Today Show. We've met so many absolutely lovely women in Denver and around the world.

Building the plan for SOL was a lot like getting ready to have a baby. You hope, you plan, you dream. You build a nest and you wait. Finally the day comes, and you step into a new and exciting set of adventures. There's no looking back. Your baby enters the world with all your wishes and work supporting it. 

SOL is older than my daughter, older than Jeanie's daughter. It is our first child, and we're so happy that's it's a thriving teen now because of hard work and a true and honest love of what we do. Because of the dedication of loyal SOL employees. And of course, because of your support.

Earlier this month we posted a note on Facebook. It said "Happy Anniversary to SOL, it's been 14 years since we opened the door to our dream." And that is exactly true. 

Happy anniversary to SOL. Thank you, sister.

Have you seen our super cool tote bags? They're not only good-lookin' and handy, they've got a secret past. They are each made from one of our store banners or billboards. We didn't want all those big beautiful pictures of our SOL girl, making her way across the state in her adorable SOL lingerie, ending up in a landfill, so we create fabulous bags from them. Westword magazine even gave us a "Best of" award for our efforts!

Summertime...and the bra solutions are easy!

We're finally out from under all the sweaters and jackets and can have some fun with cute summer styles - but if you've like most girls, I bet you've got a few awesome sleeveless and strappy pieces that stay in the closet because you just don't know what to wear...underneath!

Well - we've got some great solutions for you - and to demonstrate, we had some of our very own SOL Girls model their favorite summery fashions...

First up is Krista - she is wearing a gorgeous white plunge top and to make it even more dramatic, the top is cut in on her shoulders. Total Hollywood, no? Her brilliant solution is the lovely Prima Donna Babel bra .  This lace bra is completely invisible under her tailored white shirt and is a beautiful option instead of a plain nude bra. And to keep the straps from peeking out, Krista added the Embrace Bra Strap Solution. Voila! It's now a racer back. 

Check out the back - you can't see the bra or Embrace at all. For $10,  the Embrace is really one of the best gadgets to have in your bra wardrobe. You'll find yourself using it for all your summertime tops! (One SOL Girl we know keeps an extra in her purse to hand out to friends!)

 

Next up, the adorable Helen is ready for a day in the sunshine or a night on the town. She layered her cute lacey racer back tank top with the L'Aventure "Dottie" in Opaline and to jazz it up...converted it to a halter! Super cute and such a fun look. A great way to let your straps show!

Next is Jordy. She's wearing a breezy linen dress that totally says "Summer!" But - the sleeveless dress straps cut in a little toward the neck. Her solution? Wear a bra the same color of the dress...if it peeks out, it coordinates so well it looks planned. Jordy's always thinking! Her choice was the perfectly lovely Romance A Kyoto by Aubade. Love that color, don't you? 

Our final volunteer model is Janelle. Her super cute dress has such a distinctive neckline and such tiny spaghetti straps...what to do?  She removed the straps from her black Daisy bra and wore it as a strapless! Great, comfortable solution - with no tugging...and no straps showing!

It's the season for whites. Are you ready?

Memorial Day is just around the corner, which marks the time of year the fashion gods have deemed it acceptable for us all to pull out our white pants, shorts and skirts! Nothing looks more summery and fresh than white - but you've got to make sure you're wearing the right stuff underneath, too!

For white tops, a nude, smooth bra is the way to go. The Daisy bra in the NEW Cafe Latte color is perfect - and perfectly versatile, too. It's invisible under a white tee or tank, or convert the straps for halter tops or v-neck dresses. And for those strapless tops or ones that have skinny straps, choose the strapless bra - which actually does stay up! No tugging required.

Forgo panty lines, my friends! A nude colored thong is the best bet, and is invisible under white. Some SOL girls prefer the boy pant...have you tried one? They're a great choice under a skirt. Especially on windy days!

And oh, my. Let's talk cute. Pale green and barely lavender daisy straps on a pale green bra. There was a collective gasp when we opened the package! I've already planned a series of outfits around it! A purple tee, a pink cotton sundress, mint colored tank...these straps are going to see a lot of sunlight this summer!
There was some drama associated with its arrival - if you've been following us on Twitter and Facebook, you know that it was "SOL vs. the Volcano" for awhile. These pretty bras were held up trying to leave their native Belgium because of the ash plume over most of Europe. We waited a few extra days for them, but they were totally worth it!

Come in soon and get yours...there's even a matching boy pant. I totally know what I'm wearing tomorrow.

The countdown continues...

Three things happen in the spring. My daughter diligently rehearses for the the DPS Shakespeare Festival, I start planning my garden, and Marie Jo releases the new color of Daisy bra! How lucky for us all that this year they have added the new boy pant style to go with it.

I swoon.

This spring is no different. Bella is walking around with a grand air of Olde English Sophistication as she reviews her lines in Macbeth, I am sketching peonies and begonias, and we've started the countdown...to a dreamy green and lovely lavender Daisy bra...slated to arrive at SOL any day now!


I'm already picturing all the cute summer tanks and sundresses this adorable bra is going to be peeking out of this summer. Aren't you?
