It's the most wonderful time...of the year!

I love this time of year as the excitement builds towards the holidays. Trees twinkle, houses sparkle, there’s a glow on everyone’s cheeks…and though it does get busy and hectic, I find myself humming Bing Crosby and Dean Martin tunes and gently shaking the gifts under the tree when no one is looking.

There’s a lot going on here at SOL to help get you in the spirit, too!

I sometimes call Christmas and Channukah “toaster holidays.”  Because you usually open your gifts in front of the whole family from mother-in-law to children, it’d better be as safe as a toaster. But seriously? Who wants a toaster?

It was our first time doing an event like this - and what a blast it was! It was nothing but PJs...and get this. Everything was $10. No kidding. It was sort of like a sample sale - racks of stuff, various sizes, some matched, some mis-matched - but all great stuff in great condition.


The best part was that we held it at a "Secret Location," not at the store, which made it all the more fun.

The trick to getting the best stuff was getting there early. The doors opened at 10, but loyal SOL customers were forming a line on the sidewalk by 9:15! When we unlocked the doors - whoosh - by 1:30, we were SOLD OUT and done. It was as if it never happened. Behold the photographic evidence:

Tanks for the memories.

As I write this, Colorado has been hit with a quick reminder of winter - a little snow, a lot of clouds...but I cannot help dreaming of warmer temps to come because we've just gotten in our summer tank tops! Because, really? Is there anything more versatile for layering than a great tank? The fabric? Soft! The colors? Yummy! This is one wardrobe staple every girl needs a few of. They're not only adorable alone on the weekend, but perfect for under suits at work, or with a cute jacket or cardigan for going out. Love.

Our camisole tank is made of a high-quality fabric that's super comfy, scoop-necked and has skinny straps and an inner lining for additional modesty. This "iris" color is fabulous. So summery! The "reversible" tank does double duty. Besides being super cute layered or alone, it has a boat neck on one side...and a sweet scoop neck on the other! Talk about versatile. I am picturing it with everything from skirts and shorts to capris and jeans right. this. minute.

A lovely walk on a spring day. With Aphrodite.

We were so thrilled this week when we received a shipment from Natori - their beautiful Aphrodite line of sleepwear...gowns, chemises, and pajamas in great colors. The only problem? They'd gotten a little wrinkled in shipping.

What to do? Well, we're used to this particular phenomenon, so we keep a steamer in the back that makes all the lingerie beautiful and ready for you to take home. The only problem - it's pretty time consuming to do each piece separately - and we wanted to make sure that all these lovely pieces were on the floor and ready for you to choose from for Mother's Day! (It's right around the corner, did you remember?)

So - we called in some favors, and were invited to bring the racks of sleepwear down to our favorite department store, where they have a huge steaming closet.

Then there was just the matter of getting them there. It was just a few blocks pushing the racks...observing all traffic laws, of course.

Next, we had to work our way through the mall...without stopping for giant pretzels or shoe sales. (That's dedication, folks.) And lastly...into the steaming closet! It was some extra work - but it meant that SOL customers get the Natori Aphrodite sleepwear two days earlier than if we would've steamed them ourselves, so...well worth it! Even though my mom lives right around the corner from me, it's still so special when we get together! We love to share great food and conversation - a tradition in her Spanish culture.

Mother's Day with my mom means an extended lunch out somewhere fun and a walk through Denver's Cheesman Park. Knowing that we can chat for hours about nothing really shows why my mom is one-of-a-kind. And she loves that I treat her to beautiful pj's from SOL to show her just how much she means to me.
